Celebrating five years feels surreal as I sit here typing these words. It's an incredible milestone for Colab Training Solutions, a venture I started back in 2019. Reflecting on our journey, there were moments when I doubted if we'd make it this far.
Just eleven months after our launch, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, forcing us to close our doors. With a modest two-room training venue, I feared it was the end for us. The uncertainty brought anxiety; a feeling shared by many during those challenging times. However, amidst the struggle, I found solace in connecting with other women entrepreneurs facing similar challenges. Together, we weathered the storm, stepping out of our comfort zones to adapt and survive. I owe a debt of gratitude to these incredible women; they know who they are.
From our humble beginnings of two rooms, we've expanded to fifteen, thanks to the resilience and dedication of our team. Along the way, we've forged valuable partnerships and embraced countless learning opportunities.
This journey has been nothing short of remarkable, albeit far from easy. I attribute our success to the Almighty, who guided me to this path and who equipped me with the skills and knowledge to travel this path. It's a path that not only allows me to create job opportunities for those in need, but also grants me the flexibility to prioritize my family. Spending quality time with my children has always been my primary motivation for entrepreneurship. I firmly believe that genuine intentions pave the way for success in any endeavour.
I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me. Whether it was to listen to my “stories”, guiding me or just baby-sitting for me when I had a meeting, you are always the first people I come to for advice. Thank you for being my role models. Thank you for seeing my vision and understanding it.
My husband, Khalil you are truly a blessing. I thank the Almighty for you, daily. You so effortlessly hold my hand and walk beside me in all my endeavours. You trust my decisions and believe in me even when I have doubts. You have been there with me, listening to my challenges and my triumphs. All the late nights spent at the office, fixing this, moving that, seeing to all my technical issues without a single complaint. Thank you for understanding me.
To my children, I'm grateful for your patience, especially on weekends when we need to make stops at the office before or after our outings. Thank you for understanding that our plans might sometimes be limited due to commitments at Colab. Your willingness to enjoy a movie on the "big screen" in the training rooms while I finish my work means a lot to me.
To my exceptional team—Lualdy, Bonita, and Ruwayda—your dedication and professionalism are unparalleled. Your commitment to excellence has played a significant role in our clients' satisfaction and loyalty. I couldn't ask for a better team, and I'm incredibly proud of each of you.
